These images of the Sun were taken using a DMK 41AU02 camera from Imaging Source on a Lunt 60mm refractor with dual Hydrogen-Alpha filters. The DMK camera uses a 1280x960 pixel 1/2" CCD sensor. The video sequence was approximately 700 frames at 15 frames per second. Processed in Registax and Photoshop to produce this image.

Corresponding features can be tracked from one image to the other showing the Sun's rotation during the three days. The high degree of activity in the surface compared with a year previously indicates the approach to Sunspot maximum in 2013. [Alan Jefferis]
